Position Overview

QinetiQ Inc. is looking to hire an experienced Project Engineer to lead the technical development, integration, test and evaluation of aerial target systems, subsystems, and related equipment for the Threat Systems Management Office in Huntsville, AL.  The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, test, and integrate payloads, augmentation, or enhancements on existing aerial targets to include Electronic Warfare and advanced/emerging threat communication technologies. 
  • Research, design, and develop hardware and software to improve the capabilities of aerial target systems/subsystems, their components, enhancements, augmentations, and payloads related to aerial target operation, training, modification, and certification.   
  • Engineering Services support to modify target systems, subsystems, and related equipment hardware and software. 
  • Provide on-site technical support personnel to support the aerial target operations, training operations, and weapon system certifications for aerial target systems managed by the TSMO. 
  • In support of the Program Management Office, provide technical/engineering support to the TSMO.
  • Provide technical support required to operate and maintain the target systems 
  • Lead technical management of aerial target programs.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or other related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in general engineering supporting the development, documentation, and development of military hardware systems, preferably aerial target systems and subsystems.
  • Experience designing, upgrading, modifying, and integrating aerial targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing experience, the ability to convey technical designs, ideas and results to non-technical audiences and to provide briefings to high-level government personnel.
  • Experience supporting Technical Flight Field Testing.
  • Experience developing and/or integrating various flight software including behaviors or threat effects.
  • Active DOD Secret or higher clearance level.
