Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Tranche 3 Technical Lead to support SDA’s mission.  Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and leadership to the SDA Tranche 3 development, testing, integration, and operations effort. 
  • Oversee systems engineering processes, including cost, schedule, and performance trade-offs 
  • Support requirements management and analysis, interface management, architecture development and test and evaluation processes. 
  • Work with the development team to clarify requirements, provide feedback, and ensure issue identification and resolution is tracked. 
  • Review engineering documents and participate in milestones to include, but not limited to: System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review activities and provide subject matter expertise. 
  • Work with multiple teams and program offices supporting the coordination, development and execution of system test plans and integration efforts to include planning, coordinating, and executing tests; deconflicting resources; analyzing test data; identifying and facilitating the resolution of issues; and documenting test results 
  • Perform risk management activities, including identification and assessment, and develop risk mitigation strategies 
  • Collaborate with other teams by actively participating in cross-functional communication to ensure that all teams integrate system requirements throughout program lifecycles. 
  • Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program. 
  • Provide technical advice/input to customer’s leadership that lays the strategic foundation for critical, national capability and customer’s future initiatives. 
  • Incorporate Joint Warfighter, Mission Partners and internal SDA team’s feedback on product strategy and identify the best path to improve efficiencies. 
  • Collect and analyze feedback from end-users, stakeholders, and other teams to shape integration processes. 
  • Develop briefings, written reports, and assessments to be provided to a variety of audiences, from working level to senior executives 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering and math  
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience with satellite and ground systems 
  • TS Clearance Required; Must be able to obtain, and maintain TS/SCI clearance; #qinetiqclearedjob 
  • Strong experience in engineering of space systems  
  • Experience across the entire development life cycle, from requirements and concept definition through operations 
  • Experience in systems engineering  
  • Understanding of modeling and simulation systems 
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in science, technology, engineering and math 
  • Experience DoD and / or IC customers 
  • Current experience with space systems
