Position Overview

Our portfolio includes persistent surveillance systems, advanced sensors and radar, border security solutions, ISR mission operations and intelligence services, and cyber defense capabilities.

 

QinetiQ is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Vice President of Business Development – International Markets to lead and expand our global defense and security business. This executive role is responsible for identifying, shaping, and capturing strategic opportunities across the Middle East/North Africa (MENA), Asia, and Europe. The successful candidate will bring deep domain knowledge of international defense markets, established relationships with foreign governments, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and a strong track record in both Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS).

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute international growth strategies aligned with QinetiQ’s global objectives.
  • Lead business development and capture efforts for international programs in coordination with U.S. and in-country partners.
  • Identify, pursue, and win opportunities across defense and security sectors, including persistent surveillance, ISR operations, cyber, and border protection.
  • Cultivate and sustain senior-level relationships within the DoD, U.S. Security Cooperation offices, foreign ministries of defense, embassies, and industry partners.
  • Shape and influence FMS and DCS pathways for QinetiQ’s portfolio of products and services.
  • Partner with internal engineering, operations, and executive teams to ensure alignment of solutions with customer needs.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive analysis for international markets.
  • Represent QinetiQ at key international defense events, exhibitions, and bilateral forums.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of business development, program leadership, or sales experience within the defense or aerospace sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in international business capture, particularly in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA), Asia-Pacific, and European markets.
  • Proven experience navigating FMS and DCS processes, with a deep understanding of export regulations (ITAR/EAR).
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and foreign defense procurement systems and international acquisition strategies.
  • Experience selling or supporting solutions in one or more of the following areas:
    - Persistent Surveillance and Border Security
      - Sensors and Radar Technologies
      - ISR Mission Operations and Intelligence Services
      - Cybersecurity and Digital Warfare Solutions
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.
