Position Overview

QinetiQ US is hiring for an experienced Chief Growth Officer.  The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) is responsible for developing and executing the sector growth strategy to achieve the financial goals (sales, revenue, and profit); expand market share and position for continued growth.  The CGO is also responsible for the business strategy, executed for organic and inorganic growth, customer relationships; and the leadership of a professionalized Business Development team.  The CGO is a direct report to the CEO and a dual report to the Group CGO, who will partner with the QinetiQ US Executive Leadership Team to develop and execute integrated action plans to achieve the vision for the company.  Duties include:  

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver on all key business objectives for Orders, Sales, and Profit.
  • Develop a comprehensive Business Development (BD) strategy roadmap designed to achieve company growth objectives based upon the Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP), in collaboration with Group and executive leadership.
  • Direct and coordinate all sales and business growth efforts with hands-on engagement throughout all business development life cycle milestones, including capture, teaming, partnership arrangements, competitive analysis, price to win, and proposals.
  • Support overall QinetiQ Inc. strategic planning by linking pursuits and capture activities to business development metrics, including orders, proposals submitted, and pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain a professional workforce of BD, Capture, Account Management, and Proposal professionals to lead the execution of corporate growth across DoD, Federal Civilian Agencies, Intelligence, and Commercial Sales, both domestic and international.
  • Manage outward client-facing relationships, expanding the client portfolio and ensuring outstanding customer experiences; previous experience managing a P&L is highly desired.
  • Identify, assess, and qualify new business opportunities in sufficient quantity and quality to deliver contract awards, revenue, and profit for the company.
  • Lead efforts to develop Strategic Roadmaps with Business Unit leadership to enter emerging markets and enable future growth.
  • Demonstrate experience in product, solution, and services sales across the full spectrum of defense and security markets, both domestically and internationally.
  • Communicate the value proposition through technology-centric mission solutions, presentations, and proposals.
  • Utilize industry best practices for capture, bid, and proposal management.
  • Manage the CGO budget to support growth initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources aligned with company goals.
  • Provide leadership across BD, capture, sales, pricing, and proposal management.
  • Conduct meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, timing, and contract vehicle choices.
  • Develop relationships with key partners and customers to expand existing partnerships and identify new ones.
  • Participate in all marketing and branding initiatives, ensuring alignment with the overall growth strategy and effective engagement with target audiences.
  • Collaborate routinely with all levels of management, as well as technical and functional staff.
  • Experience in managing a pipeline of $5B+ and annual bid values exceeding $2B is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of BD experience
  • Demonstrated success record of executing customer call plans.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and comfortable operating within a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and creative
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable and confident using technology as an integral part of the sales process, with experience using tools, such as GovWin, Sales Force and SAM.Gov.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty.
  • Work toward sales and revenue goals as established in partnership with the CEO and business units.
