Position Overview

QinetiQ US is looking to hire an experienced HVAC Specialist/technician to support Fort Belvoir customer site.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Identifying and diagnosing maintenance risks, electrical and mechanical faults, and other issues with HVAC systems.
  • Performing emergency repairs, warranty services, and system adjustments and cleaning.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training to other technicians or clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with HVAC codes and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Providing excellent customer service and keeping detailed records of work performed.
  • Staying current with advances in HVAC technology and best practices.
  • Managing inventory of company-provided tools and equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret with eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
  • 1+ year (or 2+ years for commercial HVAC) experience as an HVAC technician.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
  • Proficient electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
