Position Overview

We are recruiting for a Data Engineer to support a growing mission providing data related cloud resources.

Responsibilities

Our Data Engineer is responsible for the full data lifecycle – from exploratory data analysis to the upkeep of production data flows. Data Engineers will work closely with data scientists and support the activities of the organization across multiple environments in order to exploit data of various types and security levels.  Data engineers work directly with end customers to identify and refine requirements, develop data flows, and data models.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience implementing and leading implementation of data analytics and data management programs in customer environments with diverse data holdings
  • Expert level skills in database architecture and engineering with data modeling, ingest, transformation, warehousing, and integration capabilities
  • Expert in data exploration, visualization and analytics using industry standard tools and methods including Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Experience finding actionable insights and effectively communicating them to senior level leaders and/or policymakers to drive innovation
  • Experience with database and analytics capabilities and/or data migration from on-premise to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Expert level skills writing and using SQL queries and scripts (i.e. SQL Server, mySQL,  Postgres, etc) to extract, ingest, manipulate, and report on data
  • Excellent communications skills including the ability to distill complex technical information into terms that can be understood and shared by senior leaders
  • Project management capabilities including creating program/project schedules and managing project implementation while tracking milestones, reporting progress, and collaborating with customers to address shifting needs and priorities.
  • Technical leadership skills guiding implementation using Agile principles and methodology
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required #qinetiqclearedjob
