Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring supplier compliance, managing supplier performance, and implementing quality control measures across the supply chain. This role requires expertise in supplier quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance within an international defense environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supplier quality assurance (SQA) programs to ensure compliance with U.S. Army and host-nation standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits, assessments, source inspections and performance evaluations to mitigate risk and improve quality.
  • Monitor supplier adherence to contract requirements, ISO 9001 standards, and military specifications.
  • Collaborate with procurement, program management, and engineering teams to address supplier quality issues.
  • Establish inspection, testing, and verification processes for materials and equipment provided by suppliers.
  • Investigate and resolve non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions (CARs), and supply chain quality concerns.
  • Maintain detailed supplier documentation, compliance records, and audit reports.
  • Provide guidance and training to suppliers on quality standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with U.S. Army officials, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and ITAR regulations.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality metrics, KPIs, performance tracking and trend analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in supplier quality management, vendor compliance, or procurement quality within government contracting or defense programs.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and military quality standards.
  • Experience in supplier audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and performance specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and supplier negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multinational environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • SECRET or higher security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts and defense supply chains.
  • Familiarity with host-nation regulations, international supplier management, and ITAR compliance.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or international contracting.
