Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media and Content Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to join our dynamic marketing communications team. This role will be responsible for developing and executing engaging social media strategies, creating compelling content for various platforms and marketing materials, and supporting both external and internal communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital marketing, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to craft engaging narratives across multiple channels. They will also be adept at leveraging AI tools and social media management platforms to drive our online presence and content strategy.

Responsibilities

Social Media:

  • Own and manage all social media content across platforms, with a focus on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Develop and execute paid and organic social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive social media calendar.
  • Utilize social media management tools like Sprinklr, Meltwater, or Sprout Social.
  • Perform social media monitoring to stay aware of brand mentions and industry trends.
  • Generate detailed reports and analytics on social channel performance, including key metrics such as engagement rates and follower growth.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis of social media presence and strategies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Talent Acquisition on employer brand strategies and social media content.

Content:

  • Create compelling content for the company website, product and services marketing materials (e.g., slick sheets, one-pagers).
  • Develop engaging content for internal communications, supporting employee engagement initiatives.
  • Leverage AI tools for copy and content development.
  • Partner with internal and external teams on content development.
  • Learn about and effectively communicate high-end technology products and business services.

Creative:

  • Make minor edits to existing social media graphics using established templates and design tools.
  • Collaborate with multimedia and video specialists to brainstorm and recommend content ideas for visual assets.
  • Provide input on imagery, motion graphics, and video concepts to enhance social media engagement.

Additional Information:

  • This position requires 2-3 days per week in our office in Tysons, VA.
  • Occasional collaboration with international teams may require flexibility with working hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management and content creation.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to adapt tone for various platforms and audiences.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Facebook.
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout Social).
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content development.
  • Graphic editing skills; experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret social media metrics, create performance reports, and derive actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and proactive in content and social media management.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality and consistency.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative content ideas.
  • Curious about technology and ability to learn complex technical concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government contracting or technology industries is a plus.
