Position Overview

QinetiQ US is looking for a Director of Finance to lead a robust team for finance and accounting professionals for our Defense Modernization and Intelligence Mission Services BU's. The individual must be a leader who is comfortable being accountable for achieving program and financial performance.

 

The experienced Financial leader must be able to work in a highly dynamic, fast paced environment and will be counted on to provide proactive, strategic input as part of the senior leadership team. This position will be routinely engaged in discussions with senior functional leaders across the business unit and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4 professionals, program finance, financial planning & analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Full P&L responsibility ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial records and financial statements.
  • Partner with P&L Lead and act as integral link between the Business Development, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to help capture new business, drive revenue growth, and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Develop strategies and support the organization’s goal to work within approved budgets to achieve financial goals; develop and implement cost saving measures and innovatively align work with strategic goals.
  • Develops, implements, and administers financial programs, policies, procedures and systems in multiple financial/accounting disciplines designed to ensure proactive financial analyses, accurate reporting and robust internal controls.
  • Proactively manage variances.
  • Provide proactive, timely analysis in support of critical business decisions.
  • Develops annual budgets and longer-term forecasts.
  • Interfaces and assists with external and internal auditors as required.
  • Manages company’s cash flow and working capital in support of business operations.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop employees.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong leadership and business acumen
  • Experience in government contracting and solid knowledge of government Cost Accounting Standards
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience in Defense and Aerospace Industry
  • Product manufacturing financial experience is required.
  • At least 7 years of financial leadership experience
  • Strong background in operational finance and controls with a leadership role in reporting financial results
  • Demonstrated experience creating strategic financial projections and high-level actionable analysis.
  • Strategic thinker who has ability to create, influence and execute cross-functionally to achieve results.
  • Ability to lead and influence complex teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with financial systems such as Costpoint and Focus Point (TM1)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CPA.
  • Experience implementing new ERP systems and implementing associated routines and controls.
  • Knowledge of business and program execution tenants (e.g. EAC etc.)
