Position Overview

QinetiQ is seeking a highly skilled Scheduler with expertise in Microsoft Project to support the scheduling needs of a large international program. This position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and integrating multiple supplier schedules into the prime contractor's master schedule, ensuring alignment with program milestones and delivery requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, Maintain, and Monitor Schedules:
    • Create and manage a detailed integrated Microsoft Project schedule, ensuring all tasks, dependencies, and milestones are clearly defined.
    • Manage baseline schedules, track progress, and implement updates to reflect changes in scope, timelines, or deliverables.
  • Supplier Schedule Integration:
    • Collaborate with supplier teams to collect, review, and merge supplier schedules into the master prime contractor schedule.
    • Ensure all supplier schedules are aligned with program requirements, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Critical Path and Risk Analysis:
    • Perform critical path analysis to identify key dependencies and constraints.
    • Identify and report scheduling risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and maintain contingency plans.
  • Cost and Schedule Integration:
    • Coordinate with the cost team to ensure time-phased schedules align with the program’s budget and performance goals.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure all schedules meet DoD and program-specific standards, requirements, and compliance guidelines (e.g., Earned Value Management (EVM)).
    • Develop and distribute regular status reports, including Gantt charts, variance reports, and risk analyses.
  • Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with program management, engineering, finance, and supplier teams to ensure alignment on schedule expectations and deliverables.
    • Facilitate Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, including complex, multi-supplier environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, including resource management, linking tasks, dependencies, and critical path analysis.
  • Experience with supplier management and schedule integration in a DoD or government contracting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
