Position Overview

QinetiQ is seeking an Computer Scientists/Software Engineers to support the implementation of Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software in developing a Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) system and a Common Operational Picture (COP) for a major weapons platform being exported to a NATO country.

Responsibilities

  • Implement GOTS and COTS software solutions to support mission-critical PED and COP systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions with weapons platform hardware and systems.
  • Ensure the software meets the requirements of a secure and reliable operational environment.
  • Support the customization, testing, and troubleshooting of software systems for international defense customers.
  • Maintain compliance with DoD and NATO security and export control requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide software maintenance and upgrades as required to meet platform capabilities and evolving mission needs.
  • Assist with documentation, training, and support for end-users in the NATO country.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with GOTS and COTS software development and integration in defense or government environments.
  • Strong proficiency in software development languages and tools (C++, Java, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PED and COP systems, as well as real-time operational environments.
  • Understanding of export control regulations (e.g., ITAR) and NATO security protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
