We are seeking a skilled Cloud Architect to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud solutions within a Top-Secret environment. In this role, you will develop architectural blueprints, implement security measures, and oversee data connections and integration processes. Your expertise in cloud technologies and security protocols will be crucial in meeting compliance requirements and optimizing the platform for performance and cost-efficiency. Join us to make a significant impact on national security through innovative cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of a $100M+ Department of Defense (DoD) data platform within a Top-Secret environment. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for architecting the cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient data connections, supporting data ingestion and integration, and meeting all compliance and accreditation requirements. This role requires an individual with deep expertise in cloud technologies, security protocols for classified environments, and hands-on experience with large-scale DoD or federal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a robust cloud architecture to support the deployment of the DoD data platform, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
  • Develop architectural blueprints that align with the project’s goals, DoD standards, and security requirements for operation on SIPRNet and JWICS networks.
  • Implement security measures and protocols to protect classified data and ensure compliance with DoD regulations.
  • Work closely with the accreditation support team to ensure the cloud infrastructure meets all necessary requirements for obtaining an Authority to Operate (ATO) on SIPR and JWICS networks.
  • Architect and oversee the implementation of secure data connections, data ingestion, and integration processes within the cloud environment.
  • Ensure seamless integration with existing DoD systems and platforms, optimizing for performance and security.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the cloud implementation team, ensuring best practices in cloud deployment and management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including installation, data connections, and integration teams, to ensure cohesive architecture and project alignment.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability, ensuring the platform can handle large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the cloud environment to meet evolving project needs and DoD requirements.
  • Engage with DoD stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure that the cloud architecture meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, providing clear documentation and reports as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on large-scale deployments in secure, classified environments.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligility is mandatory.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially in DoD or federal projects.
  • Deep understanding of security protocols and compliance requirements for operating in Top Secret environments, including SIPRNet and JWICS networks.
  • Strong knowledge of data integration, data ingestion, and cloud infrastructure optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency in cloud solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud architecture in a DoD environment, including familiarity with DISA guidelines and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and automation in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
