Position Overview

Exciting opportunity to lead the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) that oversees the Intelligent Transportation Systems initiatives at the US Department of Transportation. 

 

 

Responsibilities

Responsible for overall project management, supervision of project team, deliverables, and resolution of significant reporting and project issues. Interpret policies, procedures, and goals. Manages development and execution of an overall governance policy and operating procedures for the EPMO. Monitors standards and responsible for delivery of contractual deliverables.

 

  • Overall supervision and personnel management of ITS JPO EPMO team (10 FTEs divided into a Systems Development Team, Administrative and Operational Support Team, and ITS SME / Project Management Team).
  • Direct EPMO program (responsible) and individual project management (accountable) support.
  • Responsible for monitoring standards, quality, and submission of all contractual deliverables.
  • Responsible for providing briefings and presentations to all levels of the organization (direct team members to the executive director).
  • Owns and administers all meetings and meeting communications between EPMO contract support team and the client.
  • Manages development and execution of overall program governance, policies, and operating procedures for the EPMO.
  • Oversee the development of software projects using Agile practices.
  • Ensure that the team adheres to Agile principles and delivers high-quality products.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate project goals, progress, and challenges in a clear, straight forward manner.
  • Facilitate collaboration and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years program management experience, preferably in a PMO
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
    PMI PMP Certification. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile development frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with non-technical audiences/stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on strategic objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 20 Years of Experience
  • Agile Certifications
