Position Overview

QinetiQ is looking to hire an experienced Configuration Management Manager to oversee the Configuration Management and Data Management responsibilities at QinetiQ US.

 

The Configuration Management Manager will be responsible for providing and ensuring consistent and accurate configuration control in accordance with our AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management System. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s Configuration Management policies, processes, and practices.

 

This position can be based in either Waltham, MA or Franklin, MA

 

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the CM principles and practices of EIA-649, Mil-HDBK-61A and an expert working knowledge of PTC Windchill PLM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basis of estimate for new program work related to Configuration Management activities and resources.
  • Create Configuration Management plans based on program or contract requirements.
  • Support, maintain and optimize all activities as they relate to releasing product configuration documentation into the PLM/PDM system.
  • Own and manage the change order implementation procedure and process. Interface with functional departments to determine impact and actions necessary to implement the change. Authorize and approve change orders and ensure all content requirements have been met.
  • Apply knowledge of a variety of engineering practices, procedures, policies, and methodologies related to product definition, design documentation and release.
  • Maintain product configurations, bill of material structures and manage change control. Including status accounting on ECP’s and Variances.
  • Perform internal audits and/or assessments on product definition and operational documentation to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Perform periodic configuration status accounting through audits of systems baselines and associated configuration related content.
  • Develop and review metrics to track effectiveness of Configuration Management.
  • Train and coach PDM/PLM users in procedures and best practices related to configuration management and document control.
  • Take an active role in the development of each CM staff member. May include mentoring, support of formal training, on-the-job training, and/or new program assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum (10) years of professional Configuration Management skills supporting DoD customers.
  • Minimum (5) years experience managing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of the CM principles and practices of EIA-649, Mil-HDBK-61A
  • Expert use Windchill PLM/PDM
  • Experience with ASME Y14.100
  • Ability to drive change in a technical work environment

Travel:

  • Up to 20% domestic. This position supports locations in Massachusetts and Virginia.
