Position Overview

QinetiQ US seeks an individual with a growth mindset to lead a Department of Defense focused program focused on Engineering, Construction, and Quality Assurance services for an existing Space and Air Force portfolio of projects.  Primary responsibilities include providing statements of work, cost estimates, professional reviews, assessments, and offering expert opinions regarding engineering and project knowledge management, studies, system assessments, drafting position papers and staffing packages for Government review.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary mechanical / civil engineering subject matter expert with a focus on project management.
  • Acts as a liaison between different government organizations, contractor personnel, contracting, and end users on the cradle to grave execution of required projects.
  • Monitors and/or manages projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering.
  • Oversees projects on building systems for large industrial buildings, multi-story office buildings, and other facilities of similar size and complexity
  • Performs detailed pre-construction site surveys. Reviews record as-built drawings at the end of construction.
  • Supports the government in performance oversight during construction, but does not do construction management oversight,
  • Maintain surveillance over construction contractors to ensure overall compliance with contract specifications, schedules, etc.
  • Coordinate projects with other engineers in a variety of disciplines, architects, and planners as well as tenant organization representatives and construction agents such as private contracting companies, Army Corps of Engineers, and the AF Civil Engineer Center.
  • Ensures federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment are strictly adhered to in the programming, design, and construction of real property facilities.
  • Support the programming/base development, design, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) functions by preparing/reviewing designs for a variety of real property facilities construction projects, determining design criteria, putting together cost estimates and time schedules, preparing architectural and engineering (A&E) statements of work, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a Public Trust investigation and obtain a Government Common Access Card
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct project related experience.
  • Mechanical or Civil Engineer background required
  • PM Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Hybrid schedule based on government client scheduling.  Must reside within driving distance of Colorado Springs area in order to meet onsite requirements.
