Position Overview

QinetiQ US is seeking a Configuration/Production Manager to support technical projects that are transitioning from prototypes (RDT&E) to production for sustainment. The highly motivated candidate will provide leadership and guidance through knowledge, experience, and their ability to effectively manage and oversee current and emerging projects. The candidate will help identify critical warfighter needs, initiate new projects, and provide management and technical expertise in configuration management and production quality products to deliver impactful capability to the warfighter quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Service or Defense Agency Program Offices to design and develop a production plan to transition RDT&E protypes into production.  
  • Perform quantitative analyses of system engineering requirements to develop a configuration plan documenting the pertinent items required in order to support mid- to high level production (3000+ units). 
  • Work with government client and vendors to develop production and configurations plans, may be called upon to review, edit and provide recommendations for configuration management plans provided by performers
  • Evaluate and assess and provide recommendations to Government Project Managers on program objectives and assist in carrying out associated technical and program management responsibilities. Includes technical analyses to define, assess, and monitor program technical aspects to assist with technical assessments of the Government’s requirement’s progress to track program progress and technical risk.
  • Assist in the development and transition of prototype technology to production ready.  Apply Quality Assurance techniques where required and industrial engineering standards as applicable. 

Required Qualifications

  • TS/SCI-Eligible - Currently hold an active TS/SCI or have held an SCI and have been debriefed in the last 24 months; #qinetiqclearedjob
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science or Science
  • Minimum of 15 years of program management, operational, and analytical experience
  • Proficient in configuration management, industrial engineering, and experience with low to high rate of production requirements.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, excel and/or other equivalent program management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and be independently motivated.
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required up to 25% of the time.  Travel includes, but not limited to,Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe (Germany, Poland and the UK)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Acquisition or government program management experience highly desired
  • ISO 9000 Certified 
  • CMMI Level 3
  • Experience with Naval Systems a plus
